lights ! [18 Jul 2008|12:05pm]
Tim has been working on making light panel that with the aid of a program can work with the tempos of the tracks based on our own programming. this can be as simple as a blink, or complex fading programs. not sure if it'll be ready for the first couple shows but it may be a thing we can only bring locally given the size. but check it out!

wow ive neglected this [18 Jul 2008|05:51am]
[ mood | confused ]

i've had this terrible cough lately but i've been to broke to take care of it. i invested the little money i had on vitamins and a dollar menu grocery list. all the chicken nuggets i can eat. for 5 dollars. i usually avoid the cold medicine though because underneath it all i can feel the germs restrained under an invisible barrier, plotting the collapse of my lung. however the coughing does not stop, so i try to just take what i have left of ambien to sleep sooner than normal. it feels semi suicidal to me a little. i'd never kill myself but i can almost see why they do it when they're in agony though. but who's to say that death feels like sleep anyway?

speaking of i had another shapeshifting dream. it started with me being in a bank that was held for hostage. the action was upstairs but i had wondered out of the bathroom below. i found a weapon with a curious sliding trigger on the top that of course i couldn't fire properly because i can't use a handgun in a dream ever. but sure enough the perpetrator came down stairs after warning execution and i was able to finish him/her off with 40 rounds to the face. i was declared a hero and i met up with 2 girls i knew, who took the shapes of 6 i knew and went through the deceased pictures. i changed at least once but it was evident that i knew this person through the past. i saw various parts of my real life past with some people switched around but realized she must've been there to snap each shot. it ended in some bizarre orgy surrounding her corpse and i woke up when i heard two knocks. my heart felt like it stopped, and i started coughin to the tune of 5:30am. so here i am. i think i'll goto work early

<<<<<<<<<<

yesterday i didn't do much but eventually sat down and finished an intro for our live set. initially i wanted to use elements of "In Heaven" since its always struck this weird comforting / discomforting chord with me but i couldn't get it to work. instead i came up with this thing that reminded me of the intro they used for older Emperor shows mixed with Skinny Puppy that goes right into "Of Love & Death". i sent it to tim and he was pretty into it so i think thats what we're gonna use. i listened to the set on mini disc before i passed out and it think it has me even more amped to play now which is good, considering we start in about a month.

>>>>>>>>>>

i keep hearing that [info]laparolaccia & [info]far_and_distant are ruling on tour. thats so awesome. i really wish i could've come along to help for the last couple shows but i already had one set up with Life Cried that i didn't want to bail on. misssssss them :\

<<<<<<<<<<

i finally have an official website that looks nice! so you should check it out. but yeah since no one seems to know about these shows, even though i've posted about them a couple of times, here are the first 4 confirmed genCAB shows:

22 Aug 2008 - Digital Ferret Record Store w/ Panic Lift - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

6 Sept 2008 - QXTs - II transMuter Release Party - Newark, New Jersey

20 Sept 2008 - Safari Sam’s - supporting Imperative Reaction, [:SITD:] & Aesthetic Perfection - Hollywood, California

26 Sept 2008 - Cybertron @ Don Hill’s w/ Panic Lift - New York, New York</p>

...and yes you read that LA one correctly ;P

Hive Records News _ July 02, 2k8 [ genCAB & Panic Lift CD preorders ] [03 Jul 2008|05:16pm]
HIVE RECORDS NEWS _ JULY 02, 2k8

_ The Swarm is here.
_ New CDs by genCAB and Panic Lift available for preorder!
_ New Hive Records website coming
_ New CDs by Leaf and Prometheus Burning coming this fall

_ The new Hive Records' new imprint, The Swarm, is here! This is the new evolution of hard electronic music, exploding the boundaries of electro-industrial.

genCAB - II transMuter [HIV.30] // Aug 26

Defying and redefining the conventions of electronic music, genCAB presents his explosive, brilliant debut on Hive Records, II transMuter. Flawlessly meshing glass-sharp shards of glitchy industrial aggression with delicate melody and painfully personal vocals, genCAB reconfigures fragments of trance, EBM, and distorted IDM into a whole new genre.

II transMuter is the new evolution of industrial music, a rewired and genetically enhanced archetype that gives a nod towards forbears such as Gridlock, NCC and Haujobb, then fiercely breaks free from all points of reference, spraying a swarm of chest-kicking rhythm and complex electronics in all directions. But this album is also a meshwork of emotions and synthetics, a liquid amalgamation of torn-open human emotion, brutally honest lyrics, and a shrieking heart at the center of it all.

Reconfiguring the tired mechanics and flawed engineering of modern industrial music, II transMuter is a new breed of divergent electronic dance music and an absolutely stunning debut by genCAB. Available for preorder now! http://www.stormingthebase.com/details.asp?ProdID=7663

Panic Lift - Witness to Our Collapse [HIV.31] // Aug 26

Absolutely essential, Panic Lift's sophomore effort after the EP Dancing Through the Ashes is a monumental collection of songs, nearly any of which could stand on their own as singles. With the concussive force of a runaway supercollider, Panic Lift exploded onto the industrial music scene in 2006, and they instantly careened to the forefront of the NYC industrial music scene. Word of mouth and their live shows across the Northeast and California saw the debut EP quickly sell out, leaving fans waiting in anticipation of a full-length album. And now Hive Records is pleased to release Witness to Our Collapse, a masterpiece of storming beats, memory-searing hooks and flawless production.

Equally destructive on the dancefloor as it is with more reflective listening, this album is a testament to the ideology that industrial music can be both agressive and epic, as well as carefully crafted. The songwriting transcends the repetitive, predictable cliches of current cookie-cutter releases in the hard electronic scene and proves that the future of industrial music is here, and it's going to kick you right in the fucking face.

Pounding, chestplate-stomping beats and pulsing throbs of bass send convulsions through your body, while the razorwire synth lines and emotive fragments of piano and guitar pull a wicked smile across your face. Featuring more than a couple of surprises, this is not an album to be missed, and will set the bar irretrievably high for other acts in the EBM and electro-industrial scene. Available for preorder now! http://www.stormingthebase.com/details.asp?ProdID=7662

More info and MP3s here: www.hiverecords.com

CD release parties and a whole bunch of live performances are currently being finalized for these two new releases in NYC and beyond. Keep your eyes peeled, and contact dutton@hiverecords.com to set up a release party, or info@hiverecords. to book a live performance.

_ Carbon Nine studios is currently hard at work on the new Hive Records website. Expect much easier navigation, much more frequent updates, and a completely up-to-date hub for all Hive-related information.

_ Next up to bat for Hive and Suspicious are new albums by Leaf (Rooted from Within) and Prometheus Burning (Plague Called HuMANity), followed by the amazing debut by Encephalon (Integrate or Disintegrate) and the new album by Life Cried (Banished Psalms). It's going to be a massive year for us!!! Thank you all so much for the support.

Thanks for reading! Feel free to repost any and everywhere!

post busy businazzz [23 Jun 2008|10:31am]

that's from the Life Cried show in New York last Friday. you can see me on the right. so far its the only one i found where you can see me lol

but yeah i had a blast in both CT and NY. a lot of people i knew showed up at the latter, including tim and melissa, rachel, jessica, and jacen, my sister, etc. pretty sweet :) unfortunately i picked up a small bug or something so i had a soar throat all weekend and a stiff neck from rocking out so much. but i've been fighting it off with routine rotations of Airborne, garlic tabs, and liquid ibuprofen. hopefully i'll be close to 100% again mid week

now i have to focus on finishing this track (Delude). it's jsut a matter of laying down vocals and replacing a couple of sounds. the drums, which are the hardest part, are all done. i don't see delivering the vox to be that challenging, it'll be all in the effects chain i guess.

also i hired this guy to finish up the main genCAB page for me. i'm pretty sure he'll satisfy it up all spiffy :)

i'm helping out Life Cried with keyboards tomorrow in CT and friday in New York :) feel free to come out to either event, though i'm sure most of the people i know are closer to New York. we're opening for London After Midnight heh

so it all got sent off to the pressing plant on saturday! :-D that means the estimation of it being done should be sent back soon but we're thinking news with the release date and presales and what not will be up by the end of the week. should be around the first week of August now though. but for realz :)

yesterday i met with a potential drummer named Tim, who turned out to be pretty awesome and also knows the songs pretty well. he's a friend of mine's boyfriend and this is the band he's currently in. i'm twice as excited that he's from kind of a screamo band and plays really tight. i was also totally impressed and giddy when he busted out Siren Song and Version2 flawlessly. sooooo genCAB now has a drummer! i'm pretty excited as i had pretty much given up all hope of having one. it's also going to help me keep motivated too which is pretty sweet. now i just gotta inform Sean and get us all together.we mutually love star wars so it should rule!

first before even anything at all about Kinetik is that MY MASTERS ARRIVED!! :)
no real issues either, just an "accident" clip cut off the last track that i actually wanted left in, but thats being fixed up right now

as for kinetik, it ruled. rolled up with [info]djinsect and stef and adam and consistently made fun how much my american ignorance could probably get me knifed by someone. the highlights were meeting up with [info]__encephalon__ finally for the first time & nick, hitting up brutopia with [info]theblackoil & [info]d_e_m, and watching everyone fall off the chain in [info]deathcondition & [info]interact2012's room.

now that i'm back i still feel pretty beat, but pretty busy as well. i'm getting 40 hours this week rather than the usual 30 since we're going to switch from MPEG standards for the HD clips over to WMVs. on top of that i have to finish a track that i'm producing with isaac for Anders Manga by the weekend, when i really rather get started on Flux with [info]laparolaccia. i'm probably going to jump the gun honestly and start that tonight. theres about 11 tracks we have to fix up but i'm not sure by when. but i think it's gonna be a lot of fun :)

also stilllll looking for a drummer for genCAB. full kit style ;P

not only have i noticed that i've been losing some weight (in an unhealthy manner rather) but a few other people did too over the weekend, so i'm thinking about exercising again. given that i used to be around 165 and i'm present probably just under 150 presently, i'm starting to feel "less than" or something. or at least outside of my mind's eye. anyway its back to 5 meals a day, interval running and weights. at least i welcome it again :)

the first of i'm sure many of these posts all over the internet [19 Apr 2008|12:43am]
from the genCAB myspace blog:

As the announcement of the release date for II transMuter approaches,it is with great excitement that I can announce that a video for Perish The Thought is in the preproduction phase as I type this. It's being produced by Zina Brown of Thousand Names Productions [ formerly Starcircle Productions ] and we certainly don't plan on half-assing this in anyway, shape or form. If you'd like to take a look at his reel, which includes videos for Still Life Decay and Karsh Kale, then click here [ ]

....Sooo, care to be a part of it? ;)

To act as a precursor to the album [and honestly to help finance this video], I've decided to create special "fundraiser" shirts. They're the first shirts I've ever created and I thought would coincide coincidenicely with the release of both the video and the album.

When you order one of these Perish The Thought shirts for $15 you not only geta limited edition piece of memorabilia [that i do not plan on puttingup for sale again], but you also get stickers and your name in the thank you section of the credits for the video :). What better way to show your support and still have something to look back on? We're accepting Paypal and credit card preorders for these shirts starting... now! They will only be on sale until May 23rd, a week before we are set to start shooting, and then will vanish off the face of the Earth ;). At that point I will be assisting on the professional screen printing of each and every shirt, and they will ship the before I leave for the shoot.

They're available in Men's sizes Small through 2X-Large and Girl's sizes Youth Large & X-Small through 2X-Large. Order below!

I appreciate all the support i can get! It makes the whole process go a lot smoother ;)

Thanks for reading, and extra thanks for ordering.

but i keep feeling like i'm about to get sick, lately its been some kind of fever. but so you know i'm not avoiding anyone. in fact i wish you all closer, to watch over me sick in a dream

...i ordered the best sandwich i've ever had. or rather alayna ordered it for me because i'm afraid of using the phone :P but it cost me $20 and was totally worth it.

then i bought 4 can's of sparks and only barely made it through 3 of them. so much sugar, that shit is toxic but you sure feel like you could run through a wall after you finish the first one. they might as well put mescaline in it and feed it to suicide bombers

also i stole a glimpse at [info]interact2012's premasters and theres a song on there that has almost certainly stolen the EmoBM crown from me, matt, or dan all with one vocal part that rules. itunes says i listened to it 15 times last night but that doesn't account for how many times i've listened to it on the cd i burned to listen to it on my home theater and in my car and at work right now at this very moment

TRACK 3!!!!
